B&G Triton and Simrad Broadband 4G Radar Receive SAIL Magazine’s 2012 Freeman K. Pittman Awards
B&G Triton™ and Simrad Broadband 4G™ Radar have received 2012 Freeman K. Pittman Innovation Awards from SAIL magazine. Recognised as the electronics-category winners, the B&G and Simrad Yachting systems were selected by the magazine’s editors as the most innovation and interesting new products on the market. SAIL’s Innovation Awards honor the memory of Freeman Pittman who, for 15 years, brought his passion for innovation and technology to the readers of the magazine.
The award-winning B&G Triton is the only multifunction instrument on the market to incorporate depth, speed, wind, heading and autopilot into one “do-it-all” full-color, LED-backlit, 4.1-inch LCD display.
“A fully networkable alternative to individual gauges, the T41 was designed with both cruisers and club racers in mind, and offers a lot of engineering bang for the buck,” said Adam Cort, senior editor, SAIL magazine and Freeman K. Pittman Innovation Award judge. “The Micro-C Simnet backbone allows you to daisy-chain other T41s and connect a sounder, compass or Triton masthead sensor, thereby delivering a competitively priced anemometer that uses the same internal components found in B&G’s top-tier 3000 series.”
